We customize our recommendations to meet your investment objectives, tax situation1, risk tolerance and timeframe. Our approach to investment management is most effective when coupled with financial planning that reflects where you are today and where you want to be as your life progresses. Our goal is to produce consistent, long-term investment results through:
    • Effective risk management

    • Portfolio diversification within asset classes
    • Active portfolio management
    • Tax-efficient investing1

    Managed Accounts

For clients with suitable objectives and substantial assets to invest ($1 million or more), we offer sophisticated managed accounts that may tap into the objective expertise of carefully selected money managers from around the country. Managed accounts are developed with the following characteristics in mind:
    • Long-term investment horizon
    • Sensitivity to tax considerations
    • Step-up in the cost basis of assets
We offer investment choices in all asset classes and style boxes. This lets you blend a full range of investment management advice within a single, convenient relationship in the Private Client Group. Clients can choose from the following approaches, based on investment objectives and asset allocation requirements.
    • Unified Managed Accounts (UMAs). UMAs with overlay technology provide simplicity and sophistication, allowing investors to combine holdings of Separately Managed Accounts with mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and bonds into a single consolidated, customized account that may offer tax and trading efficiencies.
    • Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs). Portfolios of securities built by your U.S. Bank portfolio manager using the investment advice of independent outside money managers typically available only to very large individual and institutional investors. We also rely on advice provided by FAF Advisors, Inc., our proprietary investment partners2.
    • Individually Managed Accounts. Portfolios of securities built by your U.S. Bank portfolio manager, who will be responsible for handling all investment decision making.

    Equities

What sets us apart from many other investment providers is our team approach to equity management. Research analysts and a quantitative research group support our portfolio managers to help identify potential opportunities in the equity markets3.

We offer two equity portfolio investment management options:
    • You may choose to have an advisory relationship where your portfolio manager provides recommendations and choices, but you make the final buy and sell decisions.
    • If you prefer a fully managed relationship, your portfolio manager will oversee the equity assets in your account according to guidelines you establish, and meet with you periodically to go over the performance of your portfolio.

    Mutual Funds

Through our "open architecture" approach, we offer clients access to dozens of mutual funds4. Fund families include First American Funds from our proprietary partners in FAF Advisors, Inc., as well as funds from our partners at some of America's best known companies including Fidelity Advisor, T. Rowe Price, Merrill Lynch, American Century, Eaton Vance and Laudus.

    Bonds

We offer investors access to the full range of high quality, tax-free and taxable fixed income investments including corporate, municipal and convertible bonds5. Our investment professionals can provide advice on the most appropriate fixed income products to include in your portfolio, given your unique financial situation.

    Alternative Investments6

For sophisticated investors meeting financial and individual suitability requirements, we offer a variety of alternative investments not always available from other investment advisors6. These include:
    • Hedge Funds
    • Concentrated Wealth Strategies
      • Exchange Funds
      • Hedging
      • Hedging and Monetization
    • Derivative Strategies
    • Commodities

3 Stocks of mid-capitalization companies may be slightly less volatile than those of small-capitalization companies but still involve substantial risk and they may be subject to more abrupt or erratic movements than large-capitalization companies. Stocks of small-capitalization companies involve substantial risk. These stocks historically have experienced greater price volatility than stocks of larger companies, and they may be expected to do so in the future. Growth stocks are typically more volatile than value stocks; however, value stocks have a lower expected growth rate in earnings and sales. International investing involves risk not typically associated with domestic investing, including risks of adverse currency fluctuations, potential political and economic instability, different accounting standards, foreign government regulations, currency exchange rates, limited liquidity, and volatile prices. The risks of international investing are particularly significant in emerging markets.

4 If investing in mutual funds, each fund's investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses must be considered carefully before investing. The prospectus contains this and other information; contact the fund or your investment professional for a copy. Read the prospectus carefully before investing.

Mutual fund investing involves risk; principal loss is possible. Investing in certain funds involves special risks, such as those related to investments in small- and mid-capitalization stocks, foreign, debt, and high-yield securities, and funds that focus their investments in a particular industry. Please refer to the prospectus for additional details pertaining to these risks.

An investment in money market funds is not insured or guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or any other government agency. Although these funds seek to preserve the value of your investment at $1.00 per share, it is possible to lose money by investing in these funds.

FAF Advisors, Inc. is a registered investment advisor and subsidiary of U.S. Bank National Association. FAF Advisors serves as investment advisor to the First American Funds. U.S. Bank and its affiliates receive compensation for services rendered to First American Funds as disclosed in the fund prospectuses. U.S. Bank may also enter into agreements with non-proprietary mutual funds or their service providers whereby U.S. Bank provides shareholder services and/or sub-transfer agency, custodial and other administrative support services and receives compensation for these services. Compensation received by U.S. Bank directly or indirectly from mutual funds does not increase fund fees and expenses beyond what is disclosed in the prospectus. For more information, please review the fund's prospectus.

5 Fixed-income investments are subject to various risks including changes in interest rates, credit quality, market valuations, liquidity, prepayments, early redemption, corporate events, tax ramifications and other factors. Investment in debt securities typically decrease in value when interest rates rise. The risk is usually greater for longer-term debt securities.

6 Alternative investments very often use speculative investment and trading strategies. There is no guarantee that the investment program will be successful. Alternative investments are designed only for sophisticated persons who are able to tolerate the full loss of an investment. These products are not suitable for every investor even if the investor does meet the financial requirements. It is important to consult with your investment professional to determine how these investments might fit your asset allocation, risk profile, and tax situation.
